WorshipAs a Christian Church, St. Luke's is at its heart a worshiping community.
Our lives have been changed and connected by the Good News of Jesus Christ, and in faith and thankfulness we respond to the grace and love of God. When we gather on Sundays we lift up our prayers and praises to God, we listen to the Holy Scriptures and a message from Pastor Rob, we acknowledge our daily need for help and encourage each other in hope, in thankfulness we offer to God a portion of what we ourselves have been given, and we receive the sacred gifts of God in Holy Communion. All baptized Christians among us are invited to receive Holy Communion, and everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the other parts of our worship services. While we have resumed In-Person worship gatherings, we will continue to provide At-Home Morning Prayer worship resources for individual parishioners and families who feel unable at this time to attend a service. For more information, please check out our St. Luke's Blog, or contact Rev. Rob. Our Diocese also has many online resources for home-worship at this time, which can be found here. |
Bible StudyTuesday afternoons at 3:30PM, Rev. Rob leads us in a time of listening to God’s word. Through coming together in prayer, attention to the Scriptures, and open discussion, we seek to help each other grow in the knowledge and love of God. Since the pandemic, we have been holding our Bible Studies online (using Zoom).
Our final meeting for the Summer will be Tuesday June 13. But don't worry, we will resume again, starting in the Fall. For more information, contact Rev. Rob. |
Taizé Inspired Contemplative Prayer ServiceOn Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7PM we at St. Luke's Gondola Point host a Contemplative Prayer service open to all seeking a moment of sacred stillness.
These services begin with and make use of several moments of silence, a few simple prayer-songs, a reading from Scripture, and always conclude with the Lord's Prayer. Anglican Church Women (ACW)This global organization was founded:
To unite women in a fellowship of worship, study, and offering which will deepen and strengthen their own spiritual lives and lead them into Christian service in the parish, community, diocese, nation, and the world, as well as to work for and sustain an informed interest in the mission of the Church. Established in 1919, our ACW group remains a pillar of the ministry of St. Luke’s. They meet on Mondays for a time of quilting and fellowship, and are also quite active in supporting all sorts of hands-on ministries. For more information about our local ACW group, contact Rosemarie. For more information about ACW in New Brunswick, click here. |
'Hymn Tortons'After we worship together each Sunday, we all head over to the Parish Hall for a delicious fellowship snack together provided by different volunteers each week.
(We make sure to always have gluten-free options as well.) Though the meal itself is free, an opportunity to donate a free-will offering is available, and all proceeds from this go towards supporting Bishop McAllister College in Uganda. If you are interested in volunteering for this ministry of hospitality, or would like more information, please contact Terry (our Hymn Torton's coordinator). |
St. Luke's ChoirMusic is a vital ministry of St. Luke’s Church, offering praises to God each week through song.
Our choir meets Thursday nights for practice and fellowship. If you are interested connecting with them, the choir would be happy to hear from you. For more information, contact Caroline, our Choir Director. |
This is only a quick look at the kinds of things that we do.
There are lots of other ministries, activities, and ways of getting involved at St. Luke's GP,
living faith and growing love in our community and beyond.
